As the legislative attack on trans and queer persons continues, hate groups have been emboldened to act publicly. In recent weeks armed militias, neo-nazis, and violent white supremacists have disrupted public PRIDE festivals and library programming featuring queer people. We anticipate organized and armed disruption will continue.
Join the Rev. Tracy Howe, the UCC’s Minister for Congregational and Community Engagement, for an introduction to rapid response and embodiment practices to help local church members prepare for and respond to violence. Topics such as risk assessment, intervention, communication, and organizing will be addressed.
