The Southeast Conference was grateful to celebrate the Ordination of Rev. Ellen Green on Sunday, August 30th via Zoom. Lots of love and support was given as over 60 people on Zoom worshiped and virtually laid hands on Rev. Green, sharing love and blessings over the internet. Since we could not collectively gather to lay on hands as is traditional in the Ordination rite, Rev. Green invited people to send their handprints which were draped over her during the service.

It was a wonderful opportunity for people all over the country to participate in the service. This included the Rev. Kim Buchanan (formerly of Pilgrimage UCC in Marietta) preaching from Asheville, NC, members of the Southeast Conference participating from all five of our states, and Ellen’s family and friends from all over the country.

Rev. Green was supported in her ordination processes by Pilgrimage UCC in Marietta. She has been called to serve as an Associate Pastor at Lynnhurst Congregational UCC in Minneapolis, MN where she has been serving as their Director of Children, Youth, and Families Formation.
