What an awesome opportunity it was to worship with Bethany Congregational UCC and Evergreen Congregational UCC in their combined fifth Sunday worship service. Rev. James Banks delivered a soul-stirring sermon entitled “PRIDE AND PREJUDICE.’ The call was to offer us a mantle of love and power, to lay before God our troubles, our longings, and our hopes through difficulty, struggles and loss into the spirit realm of joy and peace.
The sermon was well received by all in attendance, the music was amazing and the spirit was indeed high. There were several first-time visitors who promised to return and maybe become members of this church. Following worship, we were treated to a real down-home southern meal that did not leave anything undone. The food and fellowship was amazing. I look forward to being in worship with them again soon.
May the peace of God continue to rest, rule and abide in both these congregations.
