Save the Date: 2019 Annual Meeting is May 30-June 2

“That We May All Be One” – Notice the unique wording that we have chosen for this year’s theme? It is based on the motto of the UCC, “that they may all be one” (John 17:21).

The SEC Annual Meeting 2019 will be one you recognize, but is packed with new, informative, and exciting opportunities. Check out each link as they are made live. There is much to see.

We have changed the usual weekend to an earlier one, Thursday, May 30 to Sunday, June 2, 2019. This allows us to have the Rev. John C. Dorhauer, General Minister and President of the denomination as our guest. He will be in conversation about our theme with our Transitional Conference Minister, the Rev. Char Burch, available for conversations during our workshops, and will preach at our yearly SEC UCC Liturgy of Word and Sacrament.

This year we will be meeting at Pleasant Hill Community Church, UCC in Tennessee (midway between Knoxville and Nashville).

We have four time slots for workshops. Based on the theme of Unity, they will follow 4 tracks: Unity Across the Lines; Strategies for Creating Unity; Unity Within and Without; Unity With Creation. Each time slot has at least one offering from each track. You can immerse yourself in one track, pick one of each, or just pick 4 of the 20+ that are being offered.

With so much to do, we have extended the Annual Meeting from Friday NOON through Sunday NOON. Fear not, if you are required to be back at your home church on Sunday, business of the conference will be completed by 3:00 pm on Saturday. Saturday at 3:30 pm will be our Communion Service with Rev. Dorhauer preaching, the evening will be a conference-wide unity event, Sunday morning will offer the fourth set of workshops.  Morning worship will close our time together.

The Expo hall with be larger than in the past. We are opening it up to artisan vendors.  Check the link for more information.

On Friday, come in your Hawaiian/Polynesian wear as Uplands Village is providing us a Hawaiian Pig Roast (with plenty of gluten-free, dairy-free, meat-free, etc. options). Also, pack one fewer shirt, as your registration will include a themed t-shirt that you are encouraged to wear on Saturday.

Registration will open soon. We look forward to seeing you at the end of May!
