Rev. Ginnie Ferrell
Rev. Ginnie Ferrell is retiring on July 31 from Central Congregational UCC in Atlanta after serving the congregation twice over a period 16 years. Although she retained the title of Associate Minister for Children and Youth, she was a pastor to everyone at varying times through the years: visiting the sick and home-bound, doing outreach ministries, caring for the church building and grounds, and celebrating weddings and memorial services and sometimes preaching. In the summer of 2014 she served as Acting Senior Minister while Rev. Shannon Michael Pater was on sabbatical. Ginnie’s educational ministry introduced Godly Play and Our Whole Lives sexuality education, and she was one of the founders of Camp Beech Grove, a faith based ecology day camp on the grounds of Central that served students from a local elementary school as well as registered campers. She will continue to serve as the chair of the PATHWAYS Advisory Committee for the Southeast Conference.
