Vision for the Journey: Church Renewal
Does your congregation need a clear direction for the future?
The Vision for the Journey process will help your congregation:
- Discern what God is calling you to be and do in the next three to five years;
- Set clear goals for expanding your ministries to reach new people;
- Strengthen congregational life to better met the needs of your members;
- Make important decisions for the future growth of the congregation;
- Wisely use the congregation's resources of people and money.
Vision for the Journey is a six-month process led by Conference Staff and a small group of key persons involving the entire congregation in praying and discerning God's call, gathering information about the congregation and the community the church seeks to serve, matching the congregation's gifts with the community's needs, developing a common sense of purpose and some goals for the future.
The end result of the Vision for the Journey process is a congregation that knows who we are and what we're called to do, and how we're going to do it!
What does SEC provide:
- Conference Staff consultation to lead you through the process;
- Vision for the Journey Workbook, a step-by-step guide through the six-month process;
- A congregational survey that will help the congregation assess your strengths and weaknesses;
- Help in finding a trained Vision for the Journey coach , if you want someone from the outside to give added support and insight.
For more information or to engage in this process, contact Rev. Cameron Trimble at the Conference Office or by emailing her at ctrimble@secucc.org.
