Bringing Theology into the Midst of the People
Because we are the church together, it is important that we nurture and deepen faith, form and prepare leaders, and grow in our understanding of our mission and ministries as members of the Body of Christ -  together.  Theology Among the People strives to do that in new and creative ways. 

TAP Certificates of Completion are awarded at the successful completion of each course. Congregations are encouraged to publicly recognize the participants’ progress by distributing the certificates during regular worship services. At the completion of an entire course of study, participants are awarded a Program Certificate of Completion and appropriate symbols to mark their accomplishment during a Commencement Service.

There are ten courses that comprise the TAP curriculum. Each course is made up of eight 2-hour sessions, or 16 contact hours, and each course addresses a biblical foundation, an area of theological reflection, and skill development in ministry practices. Course syllabi provide descriptions of each course, as well as course objectives, assignments and expected outcomes. Attention is paid in the choice of course materials and resources to reflect gender and cultural diversity. The curriculum is comprised of the following courses:

  The Acts of the Apostles & History of the Christian Church
  History & Polity of the UCC
  Worship & Sacraments
  The Pentateuch & Christian Education
  The Hebrew Prophets & Social Transformation
  Pastoral Care & the Parables of Jesus
  Evangelism & Congregational Renewal
  Capstone Course: Christian Ethics & a Life of Meaning
