Developing new churches requires a unique and specific set of skills that must be trained and nurtured in our leaders.  The modern predicament facing progressive evangelism efforts is that our resources for leadership development are sparse and under-developed.  The New Church Leadership Initiative, in partnership with Local Church Ministries, the Southeast Conference, Lancaster Theological Seminary and Candler School of Theology at Emory University, is a focused initiative developed to change that.

There are three major components to our new church strategy -

• Training at our New Church Leadership Institute - August 14-17, 2007, Atlanta, Georgia

• Coaching with our trained UCC coaches

• Networking with other church planters throughout the United Church of Christ (you can also see the 2008 Schedule of NCD Events Happening in our Conferences)
